We are coming from south Alabama and meeting friends from middle TN (Chattanooga) along the route somewhere. We will prob have Friday and 1/2 day Saturday. We could start in North TN and come south or Gadsden, AL area and go north. What would be the best places to go along that route between the Ky/TN line and the AL start. We obviously want to get the best out of our available time.
Also, is there any must see or things to do that you recommend ? And places to eat OF COURSE!! Any other helpful hints for first timers - discounts, tips, what to bring ...

1) best area to cover
2) any must see things to do
3) best food
4) tips for first timers

Help a sister out, won't ya!! Thank you and blessings to you!!

Hi,

I would recommend starting in northern TN and then head south. You will hit a ton of sales before you even reach Chattanooga. You could spend 1 1/2 days just in the Crossville area. South from there Pikeville and Dunlap are both very good and then Signal Mountain, TN is great as well.

Take a look at our Major Vendor Stops page to see some of the biggest locations. However, this is not an exhaustive list.

Also, check out the Yardsaler Packing Checklist.. You can view it and there's a printable version as well.

Hope this helps!

We are coming from SW Missouri, this is our first trip on the 127. we thought Tennessee would be our closest starting point. Any tips and advise as to where to begin. We are looking for the biggest bang for our buck haha.

Did you check out the Major Vendor Stops page? It lists a lot of the most concentrated areas.

As for where to start, Tennessee or Kentucky are both great. You won't be disappointed. If you start in TN you might take I-40 to Crossville. You could literally spend a couple of days there. Then head north or south for tons more sales.
