TOPIC: Should I skip Alabama (first-timer)?

Should I skip Alabama (first-timer)? 4 months 1 week ago #1813

We are north of Atlanta. Should we just head straight up to Chattanooga and start going north? It seems like there is a lot more action in TN and KY and we want to see all we can.

Alabama is good, especially in Gadsden and nearby, but because you're in Atlanta I would recommend heading for Chattanooga.

We have always found a lot in Alabama, but it just depends on if you are looking for something specific. We are shopping Alabama on Wednesday, then heading to Signal Mountain on Thursday. We can spend the rest of the weekend just between there and Jamestown. So many sales, so little time.

There are some great vendors in the Dogtown area of Alabama, and some decent areas between DeSoto Park and Mentone, but the stretch from Mentone to Chattanooga has often disappointed us. If you are wanting to see lots of vendors you might be better off just heading to Signal Mountain and over into Dunlap and north.
