COVID-19 Updates 127 Yard Sale (2020)As a mostly outdoor event, there is more than enough space to allow for social distancing at the 127 Yard Sale. With the help of all participants, this event will go on while protecting the safety and health of everyone.

For the safety of all participants, it is your responsibility to follow state and local guidelines that are in place at the time of the event.

Why is the 127 Yard Sale an important event?

In addition to providing essential outdoor recreation, fun, and enjoyment, this event takes place in mostly rural areas in the states where the route passes through. Many of the vendors who participate earn a significant portion of their yearly income at this event. It also provides a significant positive economic impact to many hotels, motels, RV parks & campgrounds, restaurants, and other retail businesses. This year more than ever these businesses desperately need the revenue generated during the 127 Yard Sale.

Note: As of the last update to this page (6/25/2020) all 50 states were in the process of reopening. With 41 days left until the 127 Yard Sale begins there will likely be many changes to the current guidelines. We have provided the links and information below for easy access to the current specific guidelines for each state and some specific counties along the route.

Rental Space Providers

Please consult the applicable link(s) below so you understand what guidelines you must follow during the event. We strongly recommend that you stay informed of what the local requirements are for your state and county so you can direct your vendors to the appropriate information as well. Follow the general CDC guidelines listed below.

  • Provide washing stations and bathrooms/porta-potties on-site. Sanitize frequently.
  • Encourage food vendors to provide hand sanitizer.

Vendors

Please consult the applicable link(s) below so you understand what guidelines you must follow during the event. Also, if setting up on someone else's property please communicate with the rental space provider who owns the property where you plan to set up. Follow the general CDC guidelines listed below.

Additional recommendations for Vendors:

  • Display appropriate signage. See printable signage below.
  • Provide hand sanitizer and/or sanitizing wipes.
  • Sanitize your booth/tables frequently.
  • Display all items in the open rather than leaving them in a box so people don't have to touch items for sale unnecessarily.
  • If possible offer contact-free payments.

Yardsalers

Please follow all posted signage at the 127 Yard Sale event and general CDC guidelines listed below.

Additional recommendations for Yardsalers:

  • Bring your own hand sanitizer and/or sanitizing wipes.
  • Don't touch items for sale unnecessarily.
  • Wash hands frequently.
  • Be patient and polite.

We will add more information to this page as the 127 Yard Sale approaches. With everyone's help this event can go on as planned while protecting the safety and health of all participants.

General CDC Guidelines:

  • Wash your hands often.
  • Avoid close contact. Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people.
  • Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily.
